- Adult Reading Round Table of
Illinois - The Adult Reading Round Table is made up of librarians and
library staff who are interested in developing their Readers’ Advisory skills
and promoting literature and reading for pleasure. Most members come from
Chicago area libraries.
- Fresh Fiction - Check the
website for reviews on recently released fiction or sign up for one of their
newsletters. The Fresh Press newsletter publishes a daily recap of author
appearances and book mentions on nationally broadcast television and radio
programs, including Oprah, Today, Good Morning America, Tonight, NPR, and many
more.
- Hennepin County Library's
Bookspace - Website featuring book lists, readalikes, and more.
- Morton Grove Public
Library's Webrary - A great directory of 'Web sites for Book Lovers' with
links to review sources, book discussion guides, genre fiction sites, award
sites, organizations, and more.
- Oprah's Book
Club - The Oprah Winfrey show's book site. Lists all the books mentioned
on the show or in her magazine.

- Kent District Library's
'What's Next' database - Allows you to search for adult fiction in series
by title, author, or series title.
- Overbooked: a Resource
for Readers - A huge directory of Readers' Advisory resources for the
librarian and the reader. Created by Ann Theis, Chesterfield Co. Lib., VA
- Readalikes
from the Anniston-Calhoun Public Library - A list of readalikes arranged
by author and genre.
- Springfield
(MA) City Library Readers' Advisory Service - Includes booklists,
recommendations, and links to RA sites.
- Whichbook - Allows readers to
select books by a variety of characteristics. One approach uses the appeal
characteristics. Another approach allow the user to guide a pointer along a
continuum, e.g., gentle-violent, expected-unpredictable, conventional-unusual,
etc.

- Amazon
Top Sellers - Great resource for what book people are buying. Amazon is
also good for readalikes and reviews.
- Bestseller lists:
1990-1998 - Publishers Weekly's list of bestsellers for the 20th century.
- BookSense
Bestseller list - Links to the current bestseller lists from
BookSense--adult and children's, in HTML, .doc, or pdf formats. BookSense is
the marketing tool created by the American Booksellers Association for
independent bookstores.
- Man Booker Prize - Prize
awarded to the best fiction writer from the Commonwealth or Ireland
- Nebula Awards - The
Science Fiction Writer's of America award the best science fiction and
fantasy.
- New
York Times Bestsellers list - Lists the current bestsellers in all
categories. From this page you can search the NYTBR for reviews since 1981.
- Nobel
Prize in Literature - Features all Nobel Laureates in literature.
- Publisher's
Weekly Bestsellers - Links to bestsellers and books most borrowed from
libraries.
- RITA
Award - Romance Writer's of America awards for best fiction.

- BookMuse from Powell's bookstore -
BookMuse provides reviews, questions & topics for discussion, literary
criticism, books for further reading and tips for discussion leaders on a wide

- Reading Group Choices -
Reading Group Choices provides tips for the new book group leader as well as
hundreds of selections for book group discussions.
- Reading Group Guides: the
online community for reading groups - ReadingGroupGuides.com provides
comprehensive guides for hundreds of books including bestsellers, romance,
spirituality, civil war, or literary fiction.
