Dear Members and Friends,
Last year was a banner year for the New Jersey Library Association Annual Appeal. Generous donations and the loyal support of your fellow members raised over $22,000. Thank you to all!
Libraries on the Edge is my theme for this year. Libraries are on the edge financially, creatively, and in the many ways we serve our communities. In order for our libraries to thrive on the edge, we need the support of NJLA. Our association advocates for proper funding for our libraries, provides opportunities for librarians to bring new ideas to our communities, and champions the right to library service for all. NJLA is the support system that keeps us going when money is tight or when laws threaten our ability to serve our constituents.
Pat Tumulty, our Executive Director, continues to be our voice in Trenton and around New Jersey, articulating our accomplishments and values to those with the power to protect and preserve libraries. Through her efforts, in partnership with our membership and Board, NJLA is always there for us, helping us find creative ways to serve our communities.
To help keep NJLA on the edge of the important work it does, we need your support. If you are able, we hope you will support us with a personally meaningful gift. Every donation helps, both in meeting our expenses and in demonstrating widespread support for our association.
As NJLA looks towards its 125th anniversary in 2015, all those who make a contribution of $125 and above will receive an invitation to an exclusive event at the annual conference.
Donations may be made online at www.njla.org/supportus or mailed to NJLA, PO Box 1534, Trenton, NJ 08607. Please indicate "Annual Appeal Fund" on your check.
Terrie L. McColl, NJLA President
