Clerk/Office Assistant - Bradley Beach Public Library

Bradley Beach Library is seeking a part-time clerk (20 hrs) to work the public circulation desk and assist the Director with office paperwork. Position will require some nights and some weekend hours. Aside from usual public library circulation desk duties, the person in this position will also help with:

• Maintaining office services by organizing office operations and procedures
• Preparing monthly schedules
• Maintaining monthly billing process – tracking purchase orders, getting signatures, mailing payments
• Preparing monthly statistical printouts for Director
• Controlling correspondence with library vendors
• Maintaining filing system and following procedures for retention & disposal of records
• Maintaining inventory of supplies
• Implementing office policies by established standards and procedures
• Working library circulation desk as needed performing basic library tasks



High school graduate with some college. Experience in an office environment preferred. Ideal candidate is an individual who learns quickly and has a good eye for detail. Flexiblity in schedule is a plus. Previous library experience not required but a plus. Must have excellent communication and social skills as there will be regular contact with a diverse community members. Comfortable using various social media platforms very helpful.
