Digital Services Librarian (Librarian I or Librarian II) - Montville Township Public Library

Are you a creative and energetic technology oriented librarian who would love to develop new library technology related programs and services for patrons for all ages?

The Montville Township Public Library (located in northern New Jersey I-80/I-287), is looking for a Digital Services Librarian who will keep us current with new and exciting technologies, teach computer classes to our staff and public, maintain our web and social media presence, and discover what our patrons are passionate about. Help us make the leap from good to great as we implement our new strategic and technology plans.

Job responsibilities include: Develop and teach technology classes and services for patrons and staff of all ages and skill levels. Maintain and troubleshoot the staff and public computer workstations and related equipment. Work with the MAIN Consortium on computer support needs and network issues. Manage ordering and inventory of computers and related equipment and supplies, Create and maintain the Library's website. Coordinate the Library's social media presence. Keep the Library current on new technology trends. Provide Reader's Advisory/Information Services. Develop our technology and digital collections. Attend local, state and regional meetings and conferences related to digital services, computers and technology.



Qualifications/Requirements: The successful candidate should have the following qualifications: A Library degree with an MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited program. Skilled in the support of Windows and Mac OSX computers and related equipment. Experienced in the use of web content managing systems. Teaching or presentation experience and a desire to help others find the knowledge, books, and materials they seek. Skilled in Microsoft Office applications. Committed to ongoing professional growth and development in a changing environment. Able to transform your passion for new technologies into new programs and services for our Library.

Compensation: The Montville Township Public Library is covered by Civil Service regulations and staff is represented by the IFPTE Union. The starting salary for an entry level Librarian I is $45,260 and for a Librarian II with two-year’ experience is $46,313 and includes vacation, sick and 13 paid holidays. The Library provides medical coverage for individual staff members only with an option to purchase additional health coverage for family members. This position is 37.5 hours including day, evening and weekend rotations. The Library supports continuing CE for staff at all levels including webinars, meetings and conferences as well as memberships for professional staff.
