Intellectual Freedom Award

DESCRIPTION: This award recognizes and honors outstanding contributions to intellectual freedom by an individual or a group. The Intellectual Freedom Committee selects recipient of this award.

CRITERIA:

  • Individuals or institutions having demonstrated leadership and courage in defending and promoting the principles of Intellectual Freedom.
  • Individuals or institutions having demonstrated leadership and courage in resisting censorship and in opposing violations of intellectual freedom pressures.
  • Individuals or institutions having produced innovative and creative projects, programs or materials that promote principles of intellectual freedom.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Keeping in mind the established criteria, submit a one-page statement using our online submission form describing in detail what the nominee has done to deserve this award. Please also upload copies of supporting materials, such as newspaper articles, letters of recommendation, and other evidence of support from local, state, and/or community organizations.
