Lecturer Librarian - Systems Librarian, Monmouth University, Guggenheim Memorial Library, West Long Branch

The candidate will be expected to: innovate, implement and coordinate all current and new library technologies, troubleshoot and test electronic databases both on and off site, and work 3-6 hours per week on the library reference desk; implement and manage proprietary and open source library software and manage the integration of electronic serials into the library catalog; coordinate and collaborate with Monmouth’s information technology department to address technology issues that affect library technology and web based systems; and be responsible for the maintenance of the Monmouth University Library web site, library remote access and mobile applications, the library digital repository, the SpringShare E-Reserves system, and the Innovative Millennium library catalog server.

Qualifications/Requirements: 

We require 3 years of experience managing and/or administrating library systems, along with excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Additionally, we require a Master’s degree in Library Science (or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited program or school.

We prefer applicants with experience in web application and related programming, such as JavaScript, Java, Swift, Ajax, Python, PHP, SSQL, CSS, HTML5, Python or other languages, as well as Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, and Captivate).
