Librarian I - Cumberland County Library

Reports to the Library Director. Under supervision, performs at the entry-level of the professional librarian class of job, providing a variety of services, including but not limited to programming, research services, collection development, outreach, and related work as required.
This is a full-time position, not to exceed 35 hours per week. Typical work shifts will include one Saturday every three weeks and one evening each week.
A master's degree in Library or Information Science in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey college master's program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by the Thomas Edison State College.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary. Familiarity with searching SIRSI/Dynix-based library catalog and prior experience with a public computer and print management system preferred. Ability to assist the public and staff in making effective use of electronic resources. Ability to review areas of the collection to develop or discard/discontinue. Ability to assist in selection and evaluation of resources and recommend purchases.
