Librarian I (Serves as a Children's/YA Librarian)- Cumberland County Library

Reports to the Library Director. Under supervision, performs functions at the entry level of the professional librarian class of job, providing a variety of library services, including but not limited to programming for children and young adults, research services, collection development, outreach and other related work as required.

Full-time position, not to exceed 35 hours per week. Will be required to work every third Saturday and one evening each week.

Qualifications/Requirements: 

Master's degree in Library and Information Science from a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master's program in library science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison Sate College.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary. Familiarity with searching SIRSI/Dynix-based library catalog and prior experience with a public computer time and print management system preferred. Familiarity with a variety of electronic resources and the ability to assist the public and staff in making effective use of electronic resources.
