Part Time Library Manager - Dunellen Public Library

The Dunellen Public Library is seeking a part time manager to be responsible for management of daily operations, development and implementation of budget, in conjunction with the board treasurer, long range planning and policies, grant writing, implementation of board policy and supervision of staff. Ability to connect with the staff, patrons and board. Keep up with the latest technology, social media and current trends in library service. Be an enthusiastic leader with a strong commitment to public service. Community involvement and representing the library - to increase visibility of the library; represent the library both internally and externally in the community and work environment - ability to help create and sustain a positive work environment which encourages diversity, able to engage in problem solving, team-building, accountability, professional growth of staff, trust and productivity fundraising. Help with the Friends in getting involved in fundraising activities. To make sure the Friends receive the support they need from the Manager in their fundraising efforts. Management skills: managing personnel of the library, which includes staff development: ensuring opportunities for the growth of staff in their job duties: ability to handle personnel issues in house. Ability to schedule staff hours and run monthly staff meetings. Know when to pitch in and help and when to let staff members do their job in order to flourish. Be willing to work flexible hours when programs and activities take place


Must have a Bachelors degree.    MLS or MLIS a plus
