PT Adult Library Shelver Position - Morristown-Morris Twp Joint Public Library

The Morristown & Morris Township Library is seeking a friendly, customer service-oriented person to join our creative and dedicated staff. We are located in a diverse community in the heart of historic Morristown and we provide exemplary and courteous service to all of our patrons. This 8-12 hour/week position requires excellent communication and organizational skills and a desire to be a part of an innovative and forward thinking group of people.
General Responsibilities:
• Sort and shelve Library materials for all collection areas
• Read and straighten shelves into proper classification order.
• Shift library materials when needed.
• Help with special projects as requested.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work tasks.
• Excellent oral communication.
• The ability to work with a diverse population and staff.
• The ability to learn the Library’s shelving and classification systems and shelve materials alphabetically and numerically.
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach and carry for extended periods as well as lift up to 30 pounds and push book carts up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work in a dusty environment and do light dusting.
• Candidate must be above the age of 18.

• Computer and technological skills.
• Ability to do other tasks as assigned and to work on special projects.
