PT Librarian 1 - Cumberland County Library

Reports to the Library Director. Under supervision, performs functions at the entry level of the professional librarian class of job, providing a variety of library services, including but not limited to programming, research services, collection development, outreach and other related work as required.

Part-time position, not to exceed 18 hours per week. Typical work shifts may vary and may include either a Friday or a Saturday each week.


Master's degree in Library and Information Science from a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master's program in library science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison Sate College.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary. Familiarity with searching SIRSI/Dynix-based library catalog and prior experience with a public computer time and print management system preferred. Familiarity with a variety of electronic resources and the ability to assist the public and staff in making effective use of electronic resources.
