PT Library Assistant/Administration - South Brunswick Public Library

Part-time/9 hours per week

The South Brunswick Library is seeking a personable, highly organized and detail-oriented individual to provide clerical support to its administrative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Excel and Word and be familiar with basic office equipment. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices is strongly preferred. The successful candidate must have the ability to take direction well and work with minimal supervision. Daytime flexibility is desired. Shift will include Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. This is a nine hour a week job with the potential for additional hours.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Balancing the daily deposits from the cash register
• Assisting in vendor payment process
• Performing data entry
• Filing, photocopying, record keeping
• Verifying accuracy of financial spreadsheets
• Answering phone calls and assisting visitors when needed
• Assisting other library departments with various tasks and special projects



• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word
• Handle basic math calculations with precision
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Willingness to become a Notary
• High School Graduate (some college preferred)
• Strong keyboarding skills
• Drug free
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must be physically and mentally capable of performing job tasks
