Systems and Emerging Technologies Librarian - Georgian Court University Library

The Systems & Emerging Technologies Librarian is responsible for the development and support of electronic services and other automation activities at the Sister Mary Joseph Cunningham Library. It is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track faculty position with some weekend and evening hours. This position also provides reference service and library instruction. Reports to the Director of Library Services.
Essential Functions:

Manage the library services platform (OCLC Worldshare Management Services), EZProxy authentication service, and Springshare products (e.g. LibGuides and LibWizard).
Manage, troubleshoot, and test electronic resources (e.g. platforms for databases, journals, eBooks, etc.) both on and off site.
Provide leadership for information technology related library projects and digital initiatives; research and evaluate emerging technology trends and issues, and their application in the academic library.
Develop a comprehensive technology plan that is integrated with the GCU Library's strategic plan.
Ensure the day-to-day functioning and smooth operation of library technology and equipment.
Organize and present in-house library staff training for new technologies.
Act as the library's liaison with the Office of Information Technology, the Marketing and Communications Department, and other departments/offices as needed.
Serve as the library's representative on the Instructional Technology committee.
Perform assigned reference desk duties, some weekend and evening hours as scheduled.
Participate in the information literacy instruction program.
Serve GCU by representing the library in professional organizations and campus committees.
Manage digital library technologies and services including but not limited to ContentDM
Engage in professional development, research, and scholarly activity.
Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice, and service in all aspects of interaction.
Perform other duties as assigned.

An MLS, or other master's degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association or from a program accredited in a country with a formal accreditation process as identified by ALA's Human Resource Development and Recruitment Office. Second masters/advanced degree desirable.
Minimum of two years experience in a professional librarian position, preferably in an academic library.
Experience with systems administration for EZProxy and an ILS required; OCLC Worldshare Management Services Platform preferred.
Experience with HTML, CSS, Java, Content Management Systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and Camtasia.
Excellent communication and problem solving skills, with strong service orientation, and the ability to adapt quickly to technological change.
Reference and/or library instruction experience preferred.
Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively with others in a team-based environment.
