Are you a strategic, service-driven library leader ready to inspire the next chapter of a beloved public institution? The Florham Park Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking an energetic and visionary Library Director to lead our dynamic library in its next chapter. 

The Florham Park Public Library is situated in a growing community of nearly 13,000 residents, and is home to a team of 14 library workers who are committed to excellence, public service, and bringing a little bit of “library joy” to their day-to-day!

We’re looking for someone who brings this spirit to life in both leadership and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily library operations with a focus on excellent service

  • Develop and oversee the annual budget of $1,700,000; manage financial reports and expenditures

  • Supervise, train, and support a dedicated team of library staff

  • Guide strategic planning in collaboration with the Library Board

  • Build strong partnerships with local organizations, officials, and patrons

  • Oversee adult services, reference work, and collection development

  • Ensure the library facility is safe, accessible, and ready for the future

  • Champion outreach, marketing, and community engagement efforts

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program

  • Valid New Jersey Professional Librarian Certificate

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible public library experience

  • Strong leadership and supervisory experience preferred

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • A passion for public service and community connection

Status: Full-Time

Salary: $95,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience
