There is a lot to know when joining a committee or section. Here are the most important or urgent bits of information.
Levels of commitment Committees are appointed by the board and fulfill a vital role to the ongoing success of the organization. It's important that every effort is made to attend meetings and to contribute. If you are unable to commit to fulfilling your duties on a committee, you should consult with your committee's leadership team to decide if someone else should take over your position.
Sections are member organized groups formed around common work or interests. While membership commitment varies greatly, section leaders are the ones that keep the section moving forward.
Call your first meeting and get your schedule on the calendar You can communicate with your committee or section through your e-list. Find a time for your first meeting or decide then what your meeting schedule will be. For more information and how to submit your meeting schedule, see Meetings and Events.
Learn about the NJLA tech stack We use several platforms to communicate or store files. Please read through the Technology Overview page carefully.
